Only 36 more days my fellow future College Cast Members :) I figured for today’s video it was time for something that wasn’t just sensational but rather soundsational. So sit back, relax and enjoy this memorable parade from Disneyland Park.
my fave parade!
The signs that Maurice encounters in the forest in Beauty and the Beast show the names of California cities, although very faded: The bottom one points to “Anaheim”, while the one above it points down a dark and sinister-looking path to “Valencia”. Anaheim is the location of Disneyland, while the rival Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park is in Valencia.
omg I’m pretty sure the 4th from the bottom says saugus haha
As part of the original Submarine Voyage, Disneyland used live “mermaids”. During the summers of 1965–1967, female cast members dressed in mermaid costumes could be seen sun-bathing themselves and performing synchronized swimming and underwater stunts for four hours each day.
Disney ended this live mermaid feature in 1967 after several ladies reported health concerns related to the submarines’ diesel exhaust fumes and the highly chlorinated water. In addition, tourists taking pictures of them would block the thoroughfare between the Matterhorn and the submarine lagoon.
To the person responsible for this example on display, intentional or not, thank you. <3 #Disneyland (Taken with Instagram)
Even though I go to Disneyland all the time, every time that I go, I feel like a little kid again. I get overly excited like I was the first time that I went when I was little. Just listening to the music makes me feel like I’m there. And when I’m finally there, I just love soaking in the atmosphere. I feel like I’ve been transported into another world where nothing matters.
There’s a interesting story/rumor about Snow White’s wishing well. Back in 1987 Adriana Caselotti (Snow’s voice over artist) was called back to record the echo in the well because she sounded just as she did some fifty years earlier. However, on the day of the recording Adriana couldn’t hit the high notes. She asked the men in the studio for some help because she feared that she would be replaced. Supposedly, Adriana looked up and said, “Mr. Disney, if you are up there, please help me find Snow White’s voice.” They offered her one more take and that’s what we hear today — Adriana’s perfect recording of “I’m Wishing”.
